She is the Managing Director for Quality Systems Solutions & Initiatives (QSSI), which is a consultancy organization that offers training, implementation and audit services in international quality and food safety standards. She has worked with several organizations from the Caribbean region including Belize, Jamaica and Saint Lucia where she has helped several companies achieved HACCP, ISO 9001 and SQF certification.
Sheryl was the Head of the National Certification Body (NCBJ) between 2007 and 2011 during which time she spearheaded the implementation of the ISO 17021 standard. NCBJ is the first certification body from the Caribbean region that has attained international accreditation to ISO 17021. She is an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and a certified trainer for ISO 9001, HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000 and other quality improvement courses.
She worked with the Bureau of Standards Jamaica for eight (8) years in several capacities spearheading several projects such as the National Quality Awards Programme and IDB’s Sponsored Quality Jamaica Project where over 3000 persons were trained in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and HACCP.
She has a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. She is pursuing her doctoral degree in Quality Management. She previously worked in the petroleum and sugar industries and forensics.
She is a member of the American Society of Quality (ASQ) and Caribbean Institute of Certified Management Consultants. She is also a Lead Instructor for the Food Safety Preventive Control Alliance.
